Sunscreen Myths threatening skin

Posted on in Skin Cancer, Uncategorized

Most already know that to go to the beach or just going out to apply sunscreen to protect skin from UV rays to prevent serious problems such as skin cancer.

However, the proper use of sunscreen is still very confusing. What sunscreen is right for my skin? What is the best sunscreen? … Among other doubts and misunderstandings end up giving rise to false beliefs or myths that may endanger the health of your skin.

Myth: “The greater the protection filter (SPF), more protection ‘

Truth: With a 30-45 SPF sunscreen is enough. While a higher SPF can have a longer protection, what you do is apply more chemicals to your skin for extra time no significant protection.

The key to the long and greater protection of sunscreen is reapplication. Hydroxatone Echarte sunscreen every two hours is best.

Myth: “I have dark skin, I do not burn”

Truth: The dark-skinned people do not burn as fair-skinned people, but the sun affects them anyway. Wrinkles and skin cancer are colorblind.

Myth: “If I do not need foundation blocker”

Fact: While it is a foundation with sunscreen, that’s not enough for adequate protection of the skin. The blocker always go below the base layer.

Cosmetic skin care in summer

Without any doubt, the exposure is what makes the difference during the summer as far as skin care is concerned.

The sun emits essentially two types of radiation: infrared rays which are favoring the tanning effect that lasts for several days and the ultraviolet rays that are really dangerous, because their radiation is the major cause of premature aging of the skin and the possible onset of skin cancer.

The experts never tire of repeating, and for years we know that the claim that tanning is a sign of health and beauty is not true. Although the sun has beneficial effects for our health, exposure to sunlight without protection has fatal consequences for the skin (aging, wrinkles, blemishes, etc …) but also parala health. In spite of the population is now more informed, yet the data show that approximately 70 percent of the population does not use sunscreen properly and only 1 in 10 people use sunscreen all year round. Of particular concern is the group of women between 18 and 24, Pai Skincare who used creams with very low protection factors (IP 10-20). As they age, women are increasing the rate of sunscreen alerted by the negative consequences of photoaging (IP 50 or higher).

The concept of oral photoprotection is well established in our country and recognizes its interest to complement the traditional application of sunscreen. Next to hair care is the most important segment within the nutricosmetics, which already routinely consume 13% of the Spanish. The advantage of nutricosmetics are more general effects on the body and its overall benefits for the skin. Thus, oral sunscreens, particularly the more studied Arkosol formula Advance, shows positive effects in photoprotection but also in the rate of hydration of the skin, preventing wrinkles and spots and a tan uniform and durable. It is remarkable in the composition of active advance Arkosol antioxidants such as red palm oil, plant species richer in beta carotene, lycopene extracted from tomatoes, beta carotene, from carrots and a precursor of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant, borage oil that hydrates the deep layers of the skin and paprika oleoresin containing a sublime tanning pigment, giving the skin a brightness and a unique tone.
